Back in 2014, two childhood friends – Laurence Bekink and Scott Nightingale – traded boardrooms for beans and swapped corporate hustle for the smell of freshly roasted coffee. What started as two coffee-obsessed “cofficers” bouncing between Joburg cafés soon turned into something bigger: the realisation that South Africa deserved coffee that was bold, artisanal, and unapologetically world-class.

So, they rolled up their sleeves, bought their first roaster, set up shop in Kyalami, and Coffee Exchange was born.

Today, CoffeeX isn’t just about roasting great coffee. We’ve grown into a wholesale partner, white label specialist, and importer of our very own green coffee beans – supplying cafés, restaurants, corporates, and coffeepreneurs across South Africa.

From bulk roasted beans to turnkey “coffee shop in a box” solutions, we’re here to fuel businesses with quality coffee and a touch of Joburg grit.
